Booking
with us
By booking a holiday home you agree to our Terms and Condtions as outlined below.

Our listed holiday homes are privately owned and rented on behalf of their owners.
Your booking is not confirmed/finalised until the deposit has been paid. If a property has been offered to you for a booking and we do not get confirmation from you, we may offer the booking to another party.

You must be 18 years or over to book a holiday home rental through us.
​
You must only make a booking that you intend to use and pay for yourself - you may not make a booking for a property that you will not be staying in.
​
Taupo Bay Rentals is based in Taupo Bay and will be available for any queries during your stay.
A booking fee of $25 per booking is payable directly to Taupo Bay Rentals.
Your Arrival
Please contact us at least 1 day prior to your arrival with your estimated time of arrival. It is helpful if you can advise us of your mobile telephone number and what kind of car you will be driving.
Collect the key from us at 51 Marlin Drive. and we will show you to your holiday home.
The house will be ready for you from 3pm on the first day of booking.
Maximum Guest Numbers
The number in your group must not be greater than you declared on your booking form unless we have agreed in writing to an alteration. The listed maximum guest numbers are assumed to be a mixture of adults and children and the maximum number may be less where there are adults only.
There must be enough beds available in the house for guest numbers. E.g. Camping in tents, sleeping on the floor or on furniture is not considered an option by most owners.
Pets
Generally pets are not permitted, although a few houses do allow outside dogs only - these dogs may only be brought with you if prior arrangements have been made. If permission is granted, it is your responsibility to ensure they are kept under strict control at all times, in accordance with local bylaws, and any mess must be removed from the property.
Linen & Towels
Linen, towels and tea towels are not provided, unless specifically mentioned as being included in the individual house description. Most guests choose to bring their own linen (eg. top and bottom sheets and pillowcases), bath towels, beach towels and tea towels, etc.
Alternatively, we do offer a linen and towel hire service at an additional cost. Please arrange with us prior to your arrival to arrange this service.

All houses are equipped with bedding such as pillows, under blankets and duvets.
Cleaning
BBQs and Fireplaces
It is expected that you please leave the house in the same clean and tidy condition in which you found it. We do offer a departure cleaning service - please arrange with Jan the day before your departure if you wish to use this service.

Where these are available for your use please leave them clean and tidy.
Rubbish
Your Departure
You are responsible for the removal of your rubbish from the property on your departure. Pre-paid rubbish bags are $3 each and can be purchased from us.
The house should be vacated by 10am the morning after your final night and the key returned to 51 Marlin drive on your departure. If there are no conflicting bookings either side we may be able to alter times to suit you, Please check with us.
Cancellations / Refund Policy
If you need to unfortunately cancel your booking after your deposit has been paid, we will endeavour to fill the space of your booking. If we are able to fill the booking space in it's entirety, you will receive 100% of your deposit back (less the booking fee). If only a portion of your booked space can be filled, we will refund the appropriate percentage of your deposit.
Limitation of Liability
Taupo Bay Rentals shall not be responsible for any loss or injury caused by or during your stay.

Boating, Diving & Fishing
There is a boat ramp located at the northern end of the Bay for launching small to medium boats. We want you to be safe so please do all the right things – get a marine forecast, tell someone where you are going and when you’ll be back, watch the weather, check your motor, make sure your safety equipment is up to scratch and observe fishing regulations. Copies of the fishing regulations are available from sports shops in most towns.
Please… know and observe the daily catch limits and only take what you need.
Swimming
Jet Skis & Boats
Although all the beaches mentioned here are considered relatively ‘safe’, we urge you to remember standard safety precautions and always supervise children when they are swimming.

The speed limit within 200 metres off shore is a maximum of 8kmh (5mph). Outside 200m you must reduce speed when passing other boats. Please be mindful of swimmers, surfers, kayaks and dinghies.
Dog Restrictions
No dogs are permitted on the beaches between 8am and 7pm daily from 15th December to Easter, inclusive, and over statutory weekends.
Dogs must be on a lead at all times and you must remove any droppings immediately. There are dog rangers who will fine you for non-compliance.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are lucky enough to be allowed your dog at any of our houses, all signs of it must be removed on your departure and cleared regularly during your stay. It is your responsibility to ensure the local dog bylaws are adhered to at all times.
